Next Steps

Next Steps

At Christ Central, we want to help you get from where you are to where God has called you to be. Wherever you find yourself in the process, we are here to help you take the next steps from salvation to baptism to membership to volunteering.

We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ; His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Galatians 2:16, 3:8; Titus 3:5; Romans 10:9-11; Acts 16:31; Hebrews 9:22).

Who is salvation for?

Jesus came, lived, died and rose again for each and every person. Salvation is a gift, freely given to those who accept it. John 3:16 tells us that “God so loved the world (ALL OF IT) that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

What does salvation look like?

Salvation is marked by surrender and its context is in relationship. To surrender to Christ is to die of the old man and live in the new life. Christ, like a good father desires relationship with His children. (Luke 9:23, John 10:14)

When does salvation occur?

Salvation takes place when you admit you are a sinner, believe in Christ (His life, burial and resurrection), and confess your faith in Christ. (Romans 3:23, 10:9-11, Luke 18:13-14, Matthew 7:8)

If you are ready to accept Christ or have already accepted, please let us know. Contact us and share your story.

The Bible teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism does not make you a Christian, rather it allows a believer to communicate their new life and their commitment to Christ as a testimony to others. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38).

Why should I be baptized?

It follows the example of Christ (Mark 1:9, Matt 3:16)

Because Christ commanded it (Matt 28:19-20)

It demonstrates that I really am a believer (1 John 2:3)

What is the meaning of Baptism?

It illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. (1 Cor 15:3-4, Col. 2:12)

It illustrates my NEW LIFE in Christ. (2 Cor 5:17, Romans 6:4)

Why by immersion? Does it matter if someone is sprinkled or dunked?

The word “baptize” means “to dip under water”.

Jesus was baptized by immersion. (Matt 3:16)

Every baptism in the bible was done so by immersion (Acts 8:38-39)

It best symbolizes our burial of the old life and our resurrection into new life. (Romans 6:1-11)

Who is Baptism for?

Every person who had believed in Christ should be baptized. A believer is someone who has recognized that their sin has separated them from Christ and accepted Christ into their life. They have given up their efforts to reach God through good works or religious activity. They have realized that Jesus’ death on the cross is the only thing that bridges the gap between them and God. A believer is someone who has decided to trust Christ alone for their salvation.

Maybe you have been baptized before but strayed far from God and are ready to recommit. Maybe this is the first encounter you have had with Christ and are ready to take the next steps. Either way, we want to help you. If you are ready to be baptized, please contact us.
